This stunning 18cm diameter disc is inspired by the "Swallows and Amazons" books written by Arthur Ransome, which were based here in the English Lake District.
After contacting the Arthur Ransome Trust and showing them this piece, they have taken the unpresidented move to allow me the licence to use the books name in it's title, to show their appreciation for the 'craftsmanship and thoughtful design', and as they feel it perfectly represents the spirit of the books.
The piece is created using the traditional and highly intricate technique of Tiffany copper foiling, and finished with a darkening patina and protective polish. It also features delicate wire overlay details on the sail and a mixture of textured and patterned stained glass to create the movement and transformation seen within the disc as the light changes throughout the day.
Available as a window hanging or with a handmade bespoke yew wooden stand for an additional £20 (please select the correct option when adding to your basket).
