Memories of home :-). Having grown up in Bristol, and experiencing the gracious, mesmerising and occasionally slightly bonkers hot-air balloons floating past my bedroom window as a child, when I was approached by Louise via social media to ask if I could create a 5 panel door surround for her new home based on just that, I have to admit I jumped at the opportunity!

Following exchanging emails, receiving a collection of photos and a video of the space planned for the window, and ensuring Louise had provided the exact measurements of the space following my guidelines, I prepared 3 very different designs for Louise to consider. At her request, I also included options of the designs set over all 5 panels as one cohesive scene, and then set over a smaller number of panels, to consider budget and how 'busy' the final designs may look within their intended setting. To help her explore this further, I used computer generated images to superimpose the sketches onto the photos of her hallway, and she also printed the designs out to scale and placed them on her windows at home to view them in place over a number of days!!

Once the final design was confirmed, a payment plan was agreed to spread the cost of the deposit initially, and then with the final balance due on completion.

As with all my commission work, the Louise arranged for a private contactor / joiner to instal the panels, but due to the scale of the project it was agreed that delivery in person would probably be the safest option rather than a courier, with travel expenses added to the final quote.
