Stained Glass Orchid is a recent project aimed at showcasing the intricate and beautiful art of 3D and sculptural stained glass.
The project features a collection of stunning orchid flowers and buds, created using the traditional tiffany foiling method along with the use of glass painting to replicate the richness of the petals, highlighting the skill and craftsmanship of the artists involved. The additional challenges of ensuring the weight of the floral stem were counterbalanced perfectly with the pot and the stability of each component made this project incredibly exciting and rewarding to complete.
This original piece was sold as part of the 2024 Eskdale Art Show. Since then, another has been commissioned by the Rheged Centre in Penrith, to feature in their 3 month art exhibition 'In Bud and Bloom' which ended in October 2025, and 3 private bespoke commission orders have been taken.
